Lynnwood is a city in Snohomish County in the U.S. state of Washington. Lynnwood. According to an estimate of the Washington State Office of Financial Management 35 740 inhabitants (as of 1 April 2009) on an area of 25.97 km ²
The first non- Indian settlers in the area of today's Lynnwood was the Scottish stonemason Duncan Hunter, who built a house in 1890. Other settlers followed and in 1895 the first school was built. Forestry and agriculture were a long time to the most important sources of income in the area. Then, in 1959 the city of Lynnwood was founded to 7.7 km ² with a population of 6000. The city grew by connecting other areas.
In Lynnwood is the Alderwood Mall opened in 1979, one of the largest malls in the Snohomish County.
