Lyon–Moutiers DC transmission scheme

The DC line Lyon- Moutiers was the largest -scale according to the DC transmission method by René Thury system at all. She went into operation in 1906 and transferred electrical energy from Moutiers (probably in Moutiers Savoie département ) to Lyon.

The generating unit in Moutiers consisted of four series-connected generators, each of which two are operated by a common hydraulic turbine. Depending on the energy needed, the voltage was changed in the transmission line that could exceed 75 kV. Since the line was symmetrical, the tension between the two poles was a maximum of 150 kV.
