Lyric Opera of Chicago

The Lyric Opera of Chicago ( LOC) is one of the leading opera houses in the United States.

It was founded in Chicago under the name Lyric Theatre of Chicago by Carol Fox, Nicola Rescigno and Lawrence Kelly, 1954. In the first season Maria Callas made ​​her American debut as Norma. In 1956, the company of Fox was re-formed under the present name. In the following years some of the biggest stars of the opera world occurred regularly in Chicago.
