Lyrikline.org

Lyrikline.org is an initiative of the Literature Workshop Berlin and was opened in November 1999 as a German -language internet platform for poetry.

Lyrikline.org has evolved since the founding of a cultural bridge project in the network, which makes poetry across borders and language barriers accessible for everyone. It will be presented in original language and translations now more than 818 poets from 56 languages ​​(as of April 2012) in original, poems.

Lyrikline.org is since the start under the auspices of the former Bundestag President Wolfgang Thierse and since 2002 also under the patronage of the German Commission for UNESCO. In addition, the platform as " an excellent form of a contemporary, cross-border cultural work " as a UNESCO project has been proposed. In 2001 lyrikline.org was honored by the United Nations with the United Nations International Logo " Year of Dialogue among Civilizations ", 2005, the website of the project was awarded the Grimme Online Award in the category Culture and Entertainment.
