History

St Annes -on-Sea was a planned city in the 19th century. The city of St. Anne's was largely in accordance with the plan of a business man who recognized the economic benefits of tourism early. It has retained much of its original character to this day, but has less style than its neighboring Lytham. It is a traditional Victorian or Edwardian victoria seaside resort with hotels, a sandy beach of a small pier and several Eisständen. Sand dunes surround the beach, and the town has an excellent but little-known, sand dunes nature reserve, international championships in Sandy Eight races and a very beautiful flower exhibition. Lythams tree-lined streets are surrounded by small family-run shops. There are some excellent specialty shops. Lytham is full of its old-fashioned charm.

The city's history has many connections to seafaring. The economy was originally founded in catching fish and shrimps on the. Then wealthy industrialists came from the east of the country later.
