M. F. K. Fisher

MFK Fisher (actually: Mary Frances Kennedy Fisher, born July 3, 1908 in Albion, Michigan, † June 22, 1991 in Glen Ellen, California ) was an American essayist, and the cooking is mainly concerned with issues around the table Art dealt.

Life

Fisher stood in the tradition of Brillat -Savarin. Your 1949 published translation of his main work, The Physiology of Taste, made known his work in the U.S. and Canada.

The early - 1930s Fisher lived for three years in France, of whose life and food culture it was shaped decisively. Upon her return to the United States she began essays on the art of cooking to publish. Her first book, Serve it Forth, differed so fundamentally from those of other female writers before her, that many critics assumed it was written by a man.

In her honor every two years by Les Dames d' Escoffier International of the MLC Fisher Award, with which women are excellent, have significant influence on the development of the art of cooking and dining culture.
