The M11 motorway (English for, M11 ') is a major road that runs roughly from the south towards the north and the A406 ( North Circular also called ) in the northeastern district of London South Woodford connects with the A14 in Cambridge.

The highway was built in the 1970s, mainly for quick connection from London to the newly built airport at Stansted. In 1975, the section Harlow Stansted was opened, south joined the connection to London in 1977. Other sections to the north were opened in 1979 ( Stansted Stump Cross ) and 1980 ( western bypass of Cambridge ).

Originally, the highway inside London to begin in Hackney district, which is reflected today in the connection points numbering. These plans were never actually realized, but a motorway-like road (part of the A12) was built at about the same route in the 1990s, thus fulfilling the function of the non -built section.
