M5 Industries

M5 Industries Inc ( M5i ) is an American company that created the special effects for movies and commercials and toy prototypes and Robot builds. The company, based in San Francisco was founded by Jamie Hyneman in 1997 and is the setting of the television series MythBusters - The knowledge hunters in the Hyneman occurs along with co-host Adam Savage.

The idea for the name of the company should have had after neither Jamie nor his staff was a sunken Adam Savage. The name should be short and especially remember the special department of James Bond. According to Jamie M5i is however a misnomer, since the special department of MI6 in the films as "Department Q" (English: Q branch ) is called.

Meanwhile, about 50 people are employed at M5i which model and mechanical engineering, metalworking, woodworking, painting and robotics work in specialized areas. M5i has worked for over 100 companies (including Burger King, Intel, Nike, Porsche, Schweppes, etc. ) on commercials and was designed by well-known film studios (including MGM, Paramount Pictures, 20th Century Fox, Disney, etc. ) to productions involved.
