M60 AVLB

The M60A1 AVLB is an armored vehicle launched bridges from American production. Manufacturer of the tank was General Dynamics Land Systems Division. When the pioneers of the U.S. Army M60A1 replaced the bridge AVLB M48.

Description

In essence, the M60A1 AVLB consists of three parts, the bridge hydraulics, folding bridge and tank chassis. The base of the bridge-laying tank is the armored hull of the M60A1 with six wheels, three support rollers and rubber- padded connector chain. The fuel gauge is a total of approximately 1400 liters of diesel fuel. On the main battle tank chassis is the 19.19 meter long scissors bridge. The total weight of vehicles crossing over to the military can not load class ( MLC) exceed 60. In the late 1980s, the M60A1 AVLB system in the Marine Corps has been introduced. In 1996, the U.S. Marines still had 55 bridges and 37 laying vehicles.
