M8 motorway (Pakistan)

The Motorway M-8 is a highway in Pakistan. The highway runs in east-west direction through Baluchistan in the southwest of the country of Ratodero to the coastal town of Gwadar, not far from the border with Iran. With a total length of 892 kilometers it is the country's longest motorway.
Construction
The construction of the M-8 began in October 2004. Highway was released on 23 June 2009 for the traffic. It shortens the travel time in this remote area considerably. Although the M-8 is posted as a motorway, there are on the entire length of only one lane in each direction and no intersections.
