In the club
Martens was trained in the youth department of RSC Anderlecht. For the 2003/04 season he was part of the senior squad and made his debut. This should be his last game for Anderlecht. The following season he moved to the Netherlands to RKC Waalwijk. There he established himself and belonged to the tribe squad. After two years he decided to change a renewed and signed in the summer of 2006 at AZ Alkmaar. There he quickly became a leader in the game of Red -Whites and could reach the 3rd place with her in 2007. In the 2007 /08 season, he tore the cruciate ligament and fell to the AZA for a long time. So he came into this season on only eight league bets.
