Mably, Loire

Mably is a commune with 7603 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the Loire department in the Rhône-Alpes region about 70 km north- west of Lyon. The municipality belongs to the district of Roanne Roanne and Canton North.

Geography

The city is situated on the west bank of the upper course of the Loire, a few kilometers north of Roanne.

History and Economics

Even before the founding Roannes as Rodumna settlement existed here. On the site of the 1917 furnished Arsenal de Roanne is now home to a production operation of the armaments firm Nexter.
