Macaco (Band)

Macaco is a Spanish pop band, founded in Barcelona in 1997. The band's name, which in Spanish means Macaque, was taken at the first appearances since moving, and playing percussion reminiscent of ape-like movements.

Since the musicians of the band from different countries, including Spain, Venezuela, Brazil and Cameroon, originate, hence flow also many styles of music in the songs of the band. Thus one often detects the styles of music Rumba Catalana and Rumba Latina, but just as hip-hop or reggae. Through the various countries of origin of the band members also emerged multilingual musical settings, or sings, the band also available in Spanish, Portuguese, French, English and Italian.

The band is also represented with the song Moving in the playlist of the football game FIFA 09. Moving is also the musical part of an anti-globalization campaign.
