Macedonian Radio Television

Makedonska Radio Televizija ( in the Cyrillic spelling Македонска Радио Телевизија in short, MRT; kyr: МРТ; German. Macedonian Broadcasting ) is the public broadcaster in Macedonia.

History

1944 was founded with the diverter of the Macedonian Makedonska Radio broadcasting. In 1964, Makedonska Televizija. Today, MRI produces several radio and television programs.

Since 1 January 1993, MRI is a member of the European Broadcasting Union ( EBU), therefore, may represent Macedonia, send contributions to the Euro Vision Song Contest euro vision Dance Contest and the Junior Euro Song Contest. Because of the dispute over the name of Macedonia was on the initiative of the Greek radio station ERT changed the international abbreviation of MRI in MKRTV. In Macedonia, the abbreviation MRI continues to be used.
