Macgregor Laird

Macgregor Laird (* 1808 in Greenock, Scotland, † January 9, 1861 in London) was a British commercial traveler in Africa.

Macgregor Laird worked until 1832 in an engineering works in Liverpool and then accompanied Richard Lander on his Niger trip, which he described in Narrative of an expedition up the river Niger ( 1832).

After his return to England he worked there especially with steamship and Dockbauten, but then went back to Africa to devote himself exclusively to the promotion of trade and civilization.
