Macintosh User Groups

The term Macintosh User Group ( Abbreviation: MUG) is available for groups of users who work with Macintosh computers from Apple.

They meet to share experiences, knowledge are further help with problems or give purchase advice. There are also so-called Mac forums that perform this task on the internet and in some cases also organize meetings to get to know each other and share experiences. Such user groups play an important role with respect to an unofficial and open for all representation of clients who use or intend to use Macintosh computers, promote the proper use of computers and offer quick help that can not be provided economically by the manufacturer or the trade. They channel and user requests, which allows further development in the user senses.

Originally there were MUG only in America, but with the increasing spread of the Mac computer were formed worldwide MUG.

In Germany, the most famous MUG:

  • IG Mac - Macintosh community of interest ( Informal meetings in many cities in Germany, Austria and Switzerland )
  • Mac eV - People on the computer ( Registered association with branches in different cities )
  • Wom Mac - Meeting for Mac -users in room Schwabach / Nürnberg (now disbanded )
