Mackinac Island

Mackinac Iceland [ ˌ mækɪ nɔ ː ] is an island in Lake Huron east of Mackinacstraße ( Mackinac County, Michigan). Its area is 9.779 km ².

1875 was built here, the second national park in the United States, the Mackinac National Park. The island for its Victorian hotel buildings is known (eg, the Grand Hotel), and by the applicable there prohibition of automobiles. Historic significance also is Fort Mackinac.
