Macon Whoopee

The Macon Whoopee were an American ice hockey team from Macon, Georgia. The team played from 1996 to 2001 in the Central Hockey League, as well as in the 2001/02 season in the East Coast Hockey League.

History

The Macon Whoopee were established in 1996 as a franchise of the Central Hockey League. The name was chosen on the basis of a team from the Southern Hockey League, the Macon Whoopees. After they failed in their first three seasons each in the first playoff round to the Miron Cup, they reached in he 1999/2000 season the greatest success of the club history when they nacheinem fourth place in the Eastern Division first the Fayetteville Force beat before they in the second playoff round of the Columbus Cottonmouths in the best- of-five series documents with 1:3 victories. For the 2001/ 02 season Macon took over the game license of the Tallahassee Tiger Sharks of the East Coast Hockey League, were, however, after only one year to Lexington, Kentucky, relocated, where they then took part under the name of Lexington Men O'War at play operation of the ECHL.
