Macumba

Macumba is an Afro-Brazilian religion that has but more detached from their African roots and is less clearly defined than Candomblé.

Often Macumba just means the variety of living in Brazil, popular religious traditions of African origin, which are not limited only to the population of black African descent, but also far into the "white " population layers are penetrated. Macumba often exists alongside or in syncretic manner together with the popular Catholic faith further parts of Brazilian society, although more oriented to Europe and North America this is often deny layers.
