Mad About You is a song by Belinda Carlisle in 1986, which was written by Paula Jean Brown, James Whelan and Mitchel Young Evans. It appeared on the album Belinda.

History

Mad About You was Carlisle's first solo hit after leaving the Go -Go's, and reached number three in the United States and # 1 in Canada. In the United Kingdom the song in 1988 went into the charts.

Before the release of the song Carlisle married Morgan Mason, which is seen with her in the music video for the song. The guitar solo is played by Andy Taylor of Duran Duran, who is also watching the music video.

Paula Jean Brown (which took place in the group before the separation Jane Wiedlins ) wrote the song with Jim Whelan and Mitchel Young Evans. Wiedlin and Charlotte Caffey are listening to the song as a backing vocalist. Originally Mad About You should be on the fourth Go-Go's album will be released. The Go-Go's broke up, and Mad About You, as well as two other songs, written by Paula Jean Brown, appeared instead on Belinda's album Belinda.

On the B - side to the single the song I Never Wanted a Rich Man is included.

In the music video Leslie Libman directed.
