The Madawaska County is in the northwest of the Canadian province of New Brunswick on the border with the state of Maine in the United States and the neighboring province of Quebec. Largest city of the county is Edmundston, where the county seat is located. The County has 33,422 inhabitants in an area of 3463.05 km ².
