Madeleine Robinson

Madeleine Robinson ( born November 5, 1916 in Paris; † 1 August, 2004 Lausanne, Switzerland ), actually Madeleine Svoboda, was a French actress. Between 1933 and 1993 she appeared in 79 films.

The native Parisian Madeleine Robinson was the daughter of Slovak immigrants. The first film in which she appeared, in 1936 Le Mioche, a melodrama directed by Leonide Moguy. Towards the end of her career, she played in 1988 the mother of Camille Claudel in the eponymous film by Bruno Nuytten. She took her last role in the drama The Seznec affair, a two-part film adaptation of a sensational French judicial case from 1924. She ended her career in 1993.
