Madelung equations

The Madelung equations are one of Erwin Madelung (1881-1972) formulated an alternative to the Schrödinger equation.

Substituting there the complex function by its amount and its phase according to, we obtain the Madelung equations:

The first is in the form of an equation of continuity,

The second is a Hamilton-Jacobi equations (see equations Canonical ).

Is interpreted as the effect, as a pulse.

Due to their nonlinearity, the Madelung equations are difficult to handle, but show that there are non-linear equations, which can be traced back to linear equations.
