Mademoiselle (magazine)

Mademoiselle was an American women's magazine, which was initially founded by Street & Smith and was then published by Condé Nast Publications.

Mademoiselle, actually a fashion magazine, published unlike competitors blades regularly short stories highly ranked authors like Truman Capote. Sylvia Plath's experiences as one of the guest editors of Mademoiselle in June 1953 formed the basis of her autobiographical novel The Bell Jar. Barbara Kruger was longtime art director of the magazine.

In November 2001, the last issue was published; a part of the workforce has taken to glamor Condé Nast.
