Madison County (Nebraska)

Madison County is a county located in the state of Nebraska in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Madison.

Geography

The County is located in the central northeastern Nebraska, is in the north about 80 miles from South Dakota, to the east about 120 km west of Iowa and has an area of 1489 square kilometers, of which 6 square kilometers is water area. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Pierce County, Stanton County, Platte County, Boone County and Antelope County.

History

Madison County was formed in 1856. It was named after President James A. Madison.
