Madison is a village in Lake County, Ohio, United States. In the 2000 census, the population was 2,921.

Geography and transport

The name " Madison " is sometimes used for the entire Madison Township in the far northeast of Lake County, in the municipality of Madison is located. However, there are different administrations for the township and for the community. Only the school district and the fire department are common to both administrative units, political committees and the police are separate.

The connection to Interstate 90 allows rapid connection to Cleveland.

History

Although the area of Madison was already settled at the end of the 18th century, the village was registered until 1867. It is named after the founding father and fourth president of the United States James Madison.

In Madison there is an architecturally interesting house by Frank Lloyd Wright that he has designed for Karl A. Staley. A long glass wall opens up the view of Lake Erie.
