Madrid-Toledo high-speed rail line

The high-speed line Madrid -Toledo (Spanish Línea de Alta Velocidad Madrid- Toledo, Madrid -Toledo shortly LAV ) is a high-speed railway route in Spain. It includes Toledo, the capital of the autonomous province of Castile -La Mancha, on to the Spanish high-speed network.

The 20.5 km long route branches off at La Sagra ( kilometer 53) of the high-speed line Madrid- Seville.

The 8.8 km long, Y-shaped branch level free system is passable with 220 km / h. On the 21-kilometer route the track top speed of 270 km / h The route ends at the Toledo train station.

The line was opened on 15 November 2005. It replaces an outgoing from Castillejo - Añover station on the old main line Madrid - Seville broad gauge line, which was served by regional trains and closed at the beginning of the construction work. The most striking building is the 1602 -meter-long viaduct over the River Tagus. Through trains need 35 minutes for the ride.
