Mae Chai District

Maphoe Mae Chai ( Thai อำเภอ แม่ใจ ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the west of the province of Phayao. The Phayao province is located in the northeastern part of North Thailand.

Geography

The district Mae Chai is located in the upper valley of the Ing River. West of the town of Mae Chai, the Doi Luang mountain, protected by Doi Luang National Park rise. To the east of Nong Sai Leang Reservoir, and on the border of Mueang district of Mae Pim dam lies. From Mae Puem National Park Mae Puem National Conserved Forest and Dong Pra -Doo Forest is protected.

Neighbouring districts (from north clockwise): Amphoe Phan and the Pa Daet Province Chiang Rai, Amphoe Mueang Phayao Phayao Province and Amphoe Wang Nuea in the province of Lampang.

History

The district of Mae Chai was dissolved on 23 December 1917 and integrated into the Amphoe Mueang Phan. On January 24, 1963, he was again - first as a sub-district ( King Amphoe ) was established. On July 28, 1965 Mae Chai got the full Amphoe status. In 1977 the district of Chiang Rai province was assigned to the newly established province of Phayao.

Management

Amphoe Mae Chai is available in six subdistricts ( tambon) divided further into 66 villages ( Muban ) are divided.

There are seven small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Mae Chai ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล แม่ใจ ) consists of parts of tambon Mae Chai, and Si Toi
  • Ban Lao ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล บ้าน เหล่า ) consists of the whole tambon Ban Lao,
  • Ruam Chai Patana ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล รวมใจ พัฒนา ) consists of other parts of the tambon Mae Chai,
  • Pa Faek ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ป่า แฝก ) consists of the whole Tambon Pa Faek,
  • Charoen Council ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล เจริญ ราษฎร์ ) consists of the whole Tambon Charoen Council,
  • Mae Suk ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล แม่ สุก ) consists of the whole Tambon Mae Suk,
  • Si Thoi ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ศรี ถ้อย ) consists of other parts of the tambon Si Thoi.
