Mae Tha District, Lamphun
Amphoe Mae Tha ( Thai อำเภอ แม่ทา ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the northeastern province of Lamphun. The Lamphun Province is located in the northern region of Thailand.
Geography
Neighboring districts are (from the south clockwise): Amphoe Thung Hua Chang, the Ban Hong, Sang Pa Mueang Lamphun Province Lamphun and Mae On the Chiang Mai Province, and Mueang Lampang, Hang Chat Lampang Province and OEM Ngam.
A part of the National Park Doi Khun Tan ( Thai: อุทยานแห่งชาติ ดอย ขุน ตาล ) is located in the district of Mae Tha, the greater part is located in the western part of the province of Lampang. The 255 km ² park was opened in 1975 as the tenth national park of Thailand.
History
Mae Tha was founded in 1939 as a sub-district ( King Amphoe ), consisting of Tambon, which were split off from Mueang Lamphun district. On July 22, 1958, the sub-district received the full Amphoe status.
Management
The circle is divided into six subdistricts (tambon ), which are divided further into 68 villages ( Muban ).
There are two small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:
- Tha Sop Sao covers parts of tambon same name.
- Tha Kat consists of parts of the tambon Tha Kat and Tha Khum Ngoen.
In addition, there are six " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations).
