Maestro (film)

Maestro is a Hungarian animated short film directed by Géza M. Tóth from the year 2005.

Action

Five minutes before the show a songbird sitting in his dressing room and prepares meticulously for his great commitment ago. A gripper arm cared for him, powdering and dressing him, him a drink for vocal sufficient preparation, taking care of the cylinder and the other clothes. When the bird to long note conductors exercises to train his voice, the grip arm holds him as a precaution to the bill, which is then further cleaned.

At the end rises the bird. The gripper arm is directed once again the cylinder and prevents the bird which fly around before he grabs him quickly. The stage door swings open and the gripper arm catapults the bird to the outside, which gives rapid beeps by itself - it is the Cuckoo a cuckoo clock.

Production

Maestro has been realized with a budget of around $ 80,000 and experienced on 1 May 2005 on the Portable Film Festival in Hungary its premiere.

A special feature of this film is the camera perspective: She wanders like a second hand jerky and circularly around the bird and so imitates the final minutes before the performance, and graphics.

Awards

Maestro has been nominated for an Oscar in the category " Best Animated Short Film " nominated in 2007, but could not against The Danish Poet - through set A love story.

On the Cinanima Maestro won the 2005 Festival Award. On the Zlín International Film Festival for Children and Youth director Géza M. Tóth the Hermína Týrlová Award received for Maestro; also Tóth was also awarded at the 2006 International Panorama of Independent Filmmakers in Greece with the award for best animated film.
