Magaly Carvajal

Magaly Esther Carvajal Rivera ( born December 18, 1968 in Havana ) is a Cuban original, later Spanish volleyball national team.

Magaly Carvajal won twice in a row, the gold medal at the Olympic Games in 1992 and 1996 and gold at the World Championships in 1994 and silver in 1986. Moreover, she received several international competitions in individual honors as Best Blocker.

Magaly Carvajal is 1,90 m tall at a discount amounting to 3.30 m ( to record times ) and played in the middle block, in her later career in Spanish clubs to diagonal and also acts out of the back field. She is Spanish citizen and denied some caps for Spain. With Tenerife Marichal won 2003/ 04 with an outstanding performance, the Champions League against Despar Perugia. Their extraordinary performance meant that she was bound for the play- offs from the top club and favorites Murcia 2005. In addition, she played for Tenerife Las Palmas, for which they in 2008/ 09 was still active at age 40 and was high up in the individual statistics in the league. In the 2009/10 season Carvajal was best points collector to the Spanish Erstlisten CV Traysesa Santa Cruz ( Tenerife ) and was again chosen several times in the best position in the league. In the 2011/12 season she played again in the first Spanish league at Cuesta Piedra Santa Cruz ( Tenerife ). 2013/14, she now plays 45 - year in the first Spanish league at CV IBSA ACE Gran Canaria in 2014 and is among the top scorers in the league.

Magaly Carvajal is one of the best blockers of all time and set the standard for future stars like Cuban Regla Torres, Ana Ibis Fernandez, Mirka Francia, Zoila Barros and Nancy Carillo. U.S. striker Caren Kemner said 1992 on it: "I have never seen so many arms in a block in my life. "

2011 Magaly Carvajal was inducted into the International Volleyball Hall of Fame.
