Magdalena Götz

Magdalena Götz ( born January 17, 1962) is a German biologist, college teacher and Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize winner.

She studied philosophy at Heidelberg, then biology in Zurich and Tübingen and received his PhD in 1992 in the research group of Jürgen Bolz at the Friedrich Miescher Laboratory of the Max Planck Society. Mrs. Goetz was awarded the Otto Hahn Medal of the Max Planck Society already for their theses.

In 2004 she was at the Institute for Stem Cell Research at the GSF (now Helmholtz Zentrum München ) was appointed Director in Neuherberg and the Department of Physiological Genomics, Ludwig- Maximilians- University of Munich. Götz is an elected member of the European Molecular Biology Organization.

In 2007 she won the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize. In 2007 she was also awarded the Hansen Award. Also since 2007, she is a member of the Leopoldina. In 2010 she was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit. For 2014, it was awarded the Ernst Schering Prize.
