The Skinny Bridge ( " Skinny Bridge " ) is one of the few remaining wooden Dutch bridges. She goes over the river Amstel in the center of Amsterdam. It connects the banks of the river at Kerkstraat ( Church Street ), between Keizersgracht ( "Imperial Canal " ), and Prinsengracht ( " Prinsengracht "). The Skinny Bridge is a drawbridge that can be unfolded by means of a chain in the middle. It consists of white painted wood, was built in 1671 and 1871 renewed because it was too narrow. The last major renovation took place in 1969. Until 2003 it was licensed for all forms of road transport, after a repair and restoration currently happen only cyclists and pedestrians, the bridge. Several times a day they can be folded up to allow larger ships to pass; Tour boats can pass under the closed bridge.

The bridge is decorated with 1200 light bulbs that are switched on in the evening.
