Maggie MacNeal

Maggie MacNeal (actually: Sjoukje Lucie van't Spijker, born May 5, 1950 in Tilburg, Netherlands) is a singer who was best known as a member of the duo Mouth & MacNeal.

After a moderate success with the single I Heard It Through the Grapevine she formed in 1971 with singer Willem Duyn the singing duo Mouth & MacNeal, which in the following years had several international hits, including the title How Do You Do? and Hello -A. 1974 occupied the two as representatives of the Netherlands with I See a Star third place in the Euro Vision Song Contest. Soon after, the duo and Maggie MacNeal separated in 1975 took a number of solo records, while Portsmouth with his new partner Ingrid Kup founded the duo " Big Mouth & Little Eve ". Maggie MacNeal reached the Dutch Top Ten with the singles Volver naar de kust ( " Back to the coast " ), and When You're Gone ( a later number one in Brazil). International attention in 1980 earned her the fifth place in the Euro Vision Song Contest with the title Amsterdam, but in her home with room 33 had only moderate success.
