Maggiora (manufacturer)

Maggiora was an Italian coachbuilding company from Moncalieri near Turin. She has produced, among others, the Fiat Barchetta and designed by Gianna Maggiora Lancia Kappa Coupé by hand, but other cars have been refined to coupes and convertibles; also made ​​the company also unique pieces and prototypes. History of vehicle production

The company was founded in 1925 under the name Martelleria Maggiora Maggiora of Arturo in Turin. 1951, the workshop was moved to Borgo San Pietro Moncalieri. In Moncalieri were commissioned by Pietro Frua, inter alia, The bodies of the glass in 1300 and 1700 GT anyway in the course for the BMW 1600 GT ( 1963-1968 ), made ​​of glass V8 ( 1965) and the Maserati Mistral (1963). The production of small series and individual pieces was abandoned, Fiat took over the tools of the Barchetta and built it in a separate work on. The work Chivasso was acquired by NCT ( Nuova Carrozzeria Torinese). Stola SpA took over the ILCA.

The remaining locations Carmagnola and Arbatax were for the production of mopeds Hupper ( "by Maggiora " ) rebuilt. However, the current company has nothing in common except for the workshops with the original car manufacturer Maggiora.

As a supplier
