Maghreb Cup Winners Cup

The Maghreb Cup Winners Cup (French: Coupe du Maghreb of vainqueurs de coupe ), was a football club competition in South Africa, which was only played six times from 1969 to 1975. Were eligible to participate, the respective cup winner of that Maghreb countries of Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia and Libya as well as the defending champion. However, Libya participated only in the first held in 1969. It was played from the semi-finals in pure knockout system in each case only one game within a few days at one venue. In the final staging in 1975 six teams were at the start. Frequently, this competition is referred to or regarded as successor to the North African Football Cup.
