Magic Dick

Magic Dick ( born May 13, 1945 in New London, Connecticut, USA bourgeois Richard Salwitz ) is an American musician. He was known as a harmonica player of the J. Geils Band. In addition to the harmonica he plays the trumpet and saxophone.

Life

In 1967 he founded with John Geils (vocals, guitar) and Danny Klein ( bass), the J. Geils Band, which began as an acoustic classic Blue Trio. Later, Peter Wolf (voice), Seth Justman (keyboards) and Stephen Jo Bladd (drums) were added and developed into a rock band. In 1986, she broke up.

Salwitz started his own band with Steve Ramsey ( drums) and Jerry Miller ( guitar). In 2006 there was a reunion tour of the J. Geils Band, in which all six members gave a reunion concert.
