Magic Software Enterprises ( NASDAQ: MGIC ) is a global provider of software platforms for enterprise mobility, cloud applications and business integration. The corporate headquarters is located in Or Yehuda, Israel, Germany is the office in Ismaning near Munich.
Main products are the development and application platform Magic xpa and the integration platform Magic xpi. Magic Software was the first company that was listed on both the NASDAQ and on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange ( TASE ).
Company History
Magic Software Enterprises was founded in 1983 by David Assia and Yaki Dunietz as a spin -off of Mashov computer, a publicly traded, Israeli companies, which provided business solutions for microcomputer. The new company was urstprüglich Mashov software called Export ( MSE) and developed software for the global market, especially an application generator with name Magic.
The great innovation of Mashov was a metadata- driven approach to programming, which required neither compilation nor linking and also momentary debugging erlaubte.In the eighties, the company grew through the sales for the DOS and UNIX platforms. The product has been used by many large companies such as the Israel Defense Forces.
In 1991 the company changed its name to Magic Software Enterprises ( retaining the acronym: MSE) and was the first Israeli software company on the NASDAQ. During this time, the company developed a close relationship with IBM; Here the emphasis was the AS/400 systems. In mid-1995 the first version of Magic was released for Windows.
Published in 2001 Magic eDeveloper, a graphical, rule-based and event-driven framework that offered a precompiled database engine for business tasks and a variety of generic service transit times and functions.
In 1998 the company of the Formula Group, led by Dan Goldstein, was acquired. In the following years the company experienced rapid growth in sales and profits, and in a second stock offering in February 2000, it increased by over $ 100 million trade at a valuation of $ 1 billion.
In October 2003, Magic released iBOLT integration platform and in July 2008 the first version of the application was uniPaaS platform, which replaced eDeveloper published.

In May 2012, Magic launched a large, enterprise-wide rebranding, which included a new logo, a new slogan and a redesigned website. uniPaaS was renamed Magic xpa application platform and iBOLT integration platform in Magic xpi.
