Maglie
Maglie is a southern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 14,639 inhabitants (as of 31 December 2012) in the province of Lecce in Puglia. The town is located 29 kilometers southwest from Lecce and 16 km west of Otranto. After Gallipoli in the west is 31 kilometers. Maglie is on the Salento.
History
From numerous megaliths, which were joined together to dolmens, there are human settlements of the Bronze Age and the early Iron Age can be detected. In Cattie was in 1980 at a artchäologischen investigation 12,000 tools and 800 bones are found, which are probably attributable to the Neanderthals.
Traffic
