MAGMA Foundry Technology GmbH was founded in 1988. Starting work on the casting process simulation at the Foundry Institute of RWTH Aachen and the Technical University of Denmark (DTU ) in Copenhagen, the first market-ready software for casting process simulation ( MAGMASOFT ) was developed.

The software enables the prediction of the entire process flow for the production of castings ( flow and solidification processes, core making, heat treatment) and the resulting properties (stresses and part distortion, microstructure and mechanical properties). Thus, the optimization of casting constructions and their casting technique on the screen is possible.

Today, the company is 165 employees worldwide and subsidiaries in USA, Singapore, Brazil, Korea, Turkey, India and China as the world market leader for casting process simulation software (Süddeutsche Zeitung, November 26, 2009 Series "Our leader ": Virtual molds, as well as independent competence center automotive region aachen / euregio Maas- Rhine ).
