Magnetawan River is a river in the Canadian province of Ontario.

It has its origin in Lake Magnetawan Lake in Algonquin Provincial Park in the Nipissing District. From there it flows in a predominantly westerly direction to Burk 's Falls and Magnetawan over to Georgian Bay. He opens with Britt in the Byng Inlet. Its length is 175 km.

The river has a series of rapids on ( " The Thirty Dollar Rapids ", "The Fourteen ", " The Ten", " Potato Rapids ", " Poverty Bay Chutes ", " Cody Rapid) and is popular with whitewater canoeists and kayakers.

Below the Lake Wahwashkesh the Magnetawan River Provincial Park stretches along the river. Here, the South Branch splits off to the south towards to unite after 20 km turn to the actual Magnetawan River.

In Burk 's Falls Bracebridge Generation Ltd. operates. Since 1985, a hydroelectric power plant with two Kaplan turbines 1.12 MW at a drop height of 8.5 m.
