Magnus I, Duke of Mecklenburg

Magnus I, Duke of Mecklenburg (* 1345, † September 1, 1384 ) was Duke of Mecklenburg from 1383 until his death.

Magnus was the third son of Duke Albrecht II of Mecklenburg and his wife Euphemia, who was a sister of the Swedish king Magnus Eriksson. He was married to Elizabeth of Pomerania - Wolgast, the daughter of Duke Barnim IV (after 1362 ). He had two children:

  • John IV, regent of 1384-1395 and co-regent from 1395-1422
  • Euphemia († October 16, 1417 ); ∞ on October 18, 1397 with Balthasar, Lord of Werle

After the death of his brother Henry III. he took along with his son Albrecht IV briefly from 1383 until his death in 1384, the government in the Duchy.
