Maguzawa Hausa people

The Maguzawa are the former " pagan " segment of the Hausa society of northern Nigeria. As such, they are identical to the Azna. One calls the Azna " Maguzawa " to indicate the fact that they belong to the category of ahl al- dhimma Islamic acceptable, the wards of the Muslims.
