Mahamat Nouri

General Mahamat Nouri ( born 1947 in Faya ) is a rebel leader in Chad and currently the Union des forces pour la démocratie et le développement ( UFDD ) commander.

Nouri has long been a close ally of Hissène Habré and after 1990 by President Idriss Déby. Between 1978 and 2004 he held several ministerial posts. His last official position before switching to the rebel camp was that of an ambassador in Saudi Arabia in 2006.

Nouri is a member of the Tubu from the clan of Anakaza, as well as President Hissène Habré.
