Maharishi
Maharishi (Sanskrit, m., महर्षि, maharsi < maha RSI) is the name of an ecclesiastical dignitary in India.
Maha means something like " great" or "significant", Rishi means " seer " and " wise "; the Germans would one Maharishi called " great sages ".
The term Maharishi was known in the West primarily by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, founder of Transcendental Meditation.
