Maher Zain

Maher Zain (in Arabic ماهر زين, born 16 July 1981 in Tripoli, Lebanon ) is a Swedish R & B singer, songwriter and music producer of Lebanese origin. He released his debut album Thank You Allah in 2009. The follow-up album Forgive Me was released on 2 April 2012.

Life

Zain's family moved to Sweden when he was eight years old. He has a bachelor's degree in aviation and space technology. After his studies he joined in 2005 by the label Konvict Muzik by RedOne and Akon. A year later he went to New York City. After his return to Sweden, he devoted himself to the rhythm and blues, which he modified with Islam -influenced lyrics and Arabic musical elements.
