Maija TÄ«ruma

Maija Tiruma ( born November 28, 1983 in Riga) is a Latvian luger.

Maija Tiruma lives in Ragana. You toboggan since 1998, since 2000 as part of the Latvian national squad. It starts since the 2004/ 05 season regularly in Luge World Cup. Their first top ten placing it reached in Calgary in December 2006. At the same place they reached during the same World Cup with the Latvian team, which also includes Andris SICS SICS and Juris Mārtiņš Rubenis belonged, as the winner of the team competition, her best World Cup result.

So far Tiruma started at three Olympic Games. In 2002 she was in Salt Lake City 18, 2006, she placed herself in Turin for a place better. Vancouver 2010 it ranked ninth In the Luge World Cup 2007 in Igls Tiruma was also 17th and Sixth with the team. Her best individual result at a major event reached the Lettin in ninth at the European Championships 2006 in Winterberg. With the team they surprisingly won the gold medal at the Luge World Championship 2008 in Cesana.
