Mail Boxes Etc.. ( MBE) was founded in 1980 in the U.S. in San Diego, and was appointed in 2009 to MBE Worldwide, a subsidiary of Fineffe group. In 1992, the first MBE centers in Europe was opened. Due to the success and rapid growth of the MBE franchise system in the United States, the American headquarters decided to expand the MBE network and outside the United States.

In 2001, MBE was purchased by UPS. Following the acquisition, much of the U.S. stores has undergone a rebranding as The UPS Store. The Mail Boxes Etc.. Center in the U.S., Canada and India have been renamed to The UPS Store since 2003 and in 2009 the family Fiorelli acquired with the MBE Worldwide Srl from the parcel service UPS and all rights to MBE world - except for the United States, Canada and India. The MBE Germany GmbH was founded on 3 August 2001 jointly by Paolo Fiorelli, Michael Sradnick and Thomas L. Denney Jr., headquartered in Berlin. Main shareholder of MBE Germany GmbH, with 61% Paolo Fiorelli, the remaining 39 % of the shares are divided between the other two directors. In April 2002, the first MBE center in Germany was opened near the Friedrichstrasse in Berlin -Mitte. 2003 MBE Germany has also taken the MBE master franchise license for Austria and Hungary. In May 2009, the Group was Fineffe ( the Italian master franchisee ) an agreement. Then the Fineffe Group takes over all activities of MBE outside the U.S., Canada and India.
