Mailbox (App)

Mailbox is a free computer program for managing electronic mail (e -mail). It was developed by the U.S. start -up companies Orchestra specifically and exclusively for mobile use in smartphones and is available free for Apple iOS operating system since February 7, 2013. Mailbox achieved due to some innovative features a high degree of attention by numerous blogs and articles in trade magazines and was purchased in March 2013 by the cloud provider Dropbox.

Among the new features is that messages are sorted and filtered by wiping with a finger to the right or left, without actually deleting part. In particular, the possibility of emails to let by tapping on an icon such as a coffee mug the next morning for breakfast resurface, attracted hundreds of thousands on to prospects that could be put on a waiting list. The manufacturer would have problems without the waiting list to keep the sorting services upright. The existing restriction until December 2013 the service to Gmail accounts is due to the onslaught of interested users.

Criticism

After the release of the app initially could only mail accounts are used by Google. Since December 2013, the app also supports iCloud -mail accounts, but in setting up the iCloud password is transmitted to the server mailbox, which is not necessary with Gmail accounts.
