Maille (company)

Maille is a vinegar and mustard manufacturer in Dijon.

The company was founded by Antoine Maille than vinegar and spirits producers for hygienic applications in Marseille in 1747. Already at the end of the 18th century was Maille vinegar producer for several dynasties in Europe and Russia. As in 1930, died the last of the Maille family, Baron Philippe de Rothschild bought the company. 1952 merged it with the mustard manufacturers Grey Poupon Dijon -. After repeated change of ownership (among Danone ), the company belongs since 2000 to the food multinational Unilever.
